Champagne Louis Roederer’s Cristal Brut 2002 was named the Supreme World Champion and Best French Sparkling Wine 2016 at the Awards Dinner of the 2016 Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships held in London on Thursday 1st September. The Vintage Rosé 2010 was named the Classic Brut Rosé of the Year 2016.
In addition, Roederer’s Californian counterpart, Roederer Estate Rosé was awarded the Best US Sparkling Wine 2016 for their Non-Vintage.
The House also claimed the Sparkling Wine Producer of the Year prize at the event at Vintner’s Hall in front of an audience of 100 international winemakers, producers and guests.
Founder and head judge Tom Stevenson said: “Huge congratulations to Champagne Louis Roederer this year on winning three trophies, four Best in Class and 10 Gold Medals for their 10 entries.”
Roederer triumphed in a ground breaking year for the Championships which drew in more entries than ever before.
