Domaine Faiveley is one of Burgundy’s leading family-owned domaines, based in Nuits-Saint-Georges and rooted in the region since 1825. Now led by seventh-generation siblings Erwan and Eve Faiveley, the domaine is known for precise, age-worthy Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise, with an exceptional collection of Grand Cru, Premier Cru and monopole vineyard holdings.
Read MoreFaiveley Bienvenues-B?tard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2021 comes from a 0.51-hectare parcel acquired by the Faiveley family in 2008 alongside its neighbouring B?tard-Montrachet Grand Cru. The plot lies on flatter land, with more marl and wetter soils than its neighbour, encouraging vegetation and subtle differences in the wine. Vines were planted in 1980 and 2018, producing a refined Grand Cru Chardonnay with finesse, freshness and depth.
The grapes are harvested and sorted by hand. The musts are extracted using a pneumatic press before settling. Vinification lasts four weeks in French oak barrels, 50?60% of which are new, in temperature- and humidity-controlled cellars. The wines are stirred frequently to maintain lees contact and are aged for 18 months. This ?levage brings tension, aromatic complexity and a smooth, delicate palate, supported by light natural fining and filtration before bottling.
Pale clear yellow in colour. The nose is elegant yet powerful, combining white and yellow fruit, acacia, orange blossom and freshly baked brioche. The palate is delicate but distinctive, with stewed fruit and candied lemon flavours framed by fine acidity and subtle oak texture. Full-bodied yet poised, it combines richness, finesse and freshness. The finish is fresh, lively and exceptionally long.
Pair with lobster, scallops, langoustines, turbot, roast poultry, Comt?, white truffle, seafood in cream sauce or refined vegetable dishes.
