Saint-Esprit White is a C?tes-du-Rh?ne blend made mainly from fruit grown on the right bank of the Rh?ne. The wider appellation covers around 41,200 hectares across six French d?partements, though white wine represents only a small proportion of production. The Mediterranean climate is marked by the Mistral, a strong wind that supports vine health, alongside seasonal rainfall and hot, sunny summers.
Vinification
After pressing, the must undergoes cold settling for 24 hours before racking. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at a maximum temperature of 18?C, preserving freshness and aromatic definition. Malolactic fermentation is avoided to maintain the wine?s natural balance, freshness and finesse. The wine remains in stainless steel tanks until bottling, before light fining and filtration to ensure stability and clarity.
Tasting Note
Saint-Esprit White has a golden straw colour with green tinges. The nose shows white flowers and yellow fruit, enhanced by touches of exotic fruit and citrus. The palate is lively, fresh and gently rounded, combining fruit clarity with a suave, approachable texture. Light to medium-bodied, it offers balance, freshness and aromatic lift. The finish is clean, bright and fruit-led, making it highly versatile as an aperitif or with food.
Food Pairing
Serve as an aperitif or pair with grilled fish, waterfowl, seafood salads, roast chicken, vegetable tart, fresh cheeses, lemon-led dishes or Mediterranean starters.
