Founded in 1880 by Adriano Ramos Pinto, this Port House has always had a pioneering spirit – from the distinctive and stylish ‘art nouveau’ advertising from the 1900s to the continuing wide ranging vineyard research with results that have benefited the whole port trade. Champagne Louis Roederer, now the majority shareholder, perpetuates this philosophy and ensures continuity in a company renowned for wine-making excellence.
Read MoreRamos Pinto manages 187 hectares of prime vineyards in the Alto Corgo and Douro Superior, giving the house a high level of control over viticulture and harvest timing. Adriano White Reserva Port is produced from white grape varieties grown in the Douro Demarcated Region, a mountainous valley shaped by the Douro River and its tributaries. The region?s steep vineyard sites, warm climate and schist-influenced soils support the concentration, freshness and structure required for aged white Port.
Adriano White Reserva is made from selected white grape varieties from the Douro Demarcated Region. Grapes are hand-picked and vinified using traditional Port techniques, with light skin maceration to build aromatic depth and texture. The final blend is assembled from carefully selected wines that have aged in oak barrels in the Ramos Pinto cellars for an average of seven years, developing maturity, complexity and a rounded aged white Port profile.
The wine is pale gold in colour. The nose is intense and complex, showing ripe golden fruit, tropical fruit, crystallised orange and subtle spice. The palate is full-bodied, mature and luscious, with golden fruit, citrus peel and soft oak-aged complexity. Sweetness is balanced by freshness, giving the wine lift and precision. The finish is long, rounded and persistent, with a refined aged white Port character.
