Ramos Pinto
Founded in 1880 by Adriano Ramos Pinto, this Port House has always had a pioneering spirit – from the distinctive and stylish ‘art nouveau’ advertising from the 1900s to the continuing wide ranging vineyard research with results that have benefited the whole port trade. Champagne Louis Roederer, now the majority shareholder, perpetuates this philosophy and ensures continuity in a company renowned for wine-making excellence.

Ramos Pinto manages 187 hectares of vineyards in the Alto Corgo and Douro Superior, with estate fruit forming the basis of its long-aged Tawny Ports. The steep slopes, warm climate and schist-influenced soils of the Douro Demarcated Region give the wines the concentration, freshness and structure needed for decades of maturation. The 30 Year Old Tawny is made from wines sourced from Ramos Pinto estates in the best areas of the Douro.
Vinification
Ramos Pinto 30 Year Old Tawny is blended from several Port wines aged in cask for decades at the Ramos Pinto cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia. Extended wood ageing develops the wine?s pale tawny-amber colour, mature dried fruit, spice and nut complexity. The blending process is focused on balance, concentration and persistence, bringing together maturity and freshness in a refined, long-aged Tawny Port style.
Tasting Note
The wine has a striking pale tawny-amber colour with orange-brown hints and a greenish rim, typical of ancient cask-aged wines. The nose is warm and charming, with cinnamon, dried fruit and mature wood spice. The palate opens with dried fruits, almond and hazelnut, followed by complex wood and spice notes. Full-bodied and smooth, it finishes sweet, warm and long.
Food Pairing
Serve at the end of a meal on its own, with coffee, walnut cake, almond tart, cr?me caramel, roasted nuts, aged hard cheeses or a fine cigar.
Serving Suggestion
Serve between 14º and 18º C. Store the bottle upright, in a cool, dry and dark place.
