Castiglion del Bosco
Castiglion del Bosco is a historic Brunello di Montalcino estate in Tuscany, Italy, located in the Val d’Orcia near Montalcino and known for Sangiovese Grosso, Rosso di Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino and Brunello di Montalcino Riserva. One of the founding members of the Consorzio del Vino Brunello di Montalcino in 1967, the estate combines significant vineyard scale, organic cultivation and a refined interpretation of Sangiovese. For the UK wine trade, Castiglion del Bosco offers a complete Montalcino range, from accessible Rosso di Montalcino to age-worthy Brunello and single-vineyard fine wine.

Castiglion del Bosco Chardonnay 2025 is produced from Chardonnay grown in Tuscany, within the estate’s wider approach to precise, balanced varietal expression. Chardonnay is the sole variety and presents the wine as a fragrant, elegant and harmonious expression of the grape. It is designed to show freshness, balance and finesse, with a structure that supports aromatic clarity and a refined, approachable style.
Vinification
Vintage 2025 was matured in stainless steel tanks, a choice that preserves freshness, fruit purity and varietal definition. The approach supports a clean, precise Chardonnay profile, with no oak influence indicated in the supplied technical sheet. The wine has below 1g/l residual sugar, giving a dry, balanced and fresh expression of Tuscan Chardonnay.
2025
The 2025 harvest in the Cortona area was regular and balanced, with weather conditions that supported optimal grape ripening. The resulting wines are expected to show good freshness, balanced structure and an elegant expression of the territory. This vintage context suits Chardonnay particularly well, allowing the variety to retain liveliness and aromatic precision while developing ripe stone-fruit notes and a harmonious palate.
Tasting Note
Pale straw yellow in colour. The nose is fragrant and precise, with intense floral notes. The palate opens fresh, immediate and lively, showing pleasant peach and apricot flavours. Light to medium-bodied, it is harmonious and balanced, with a clean texture and good aromatic persistence.
