Champagne Deutz
Champagne Deutz is a historic Champagne House founded in Aÿ in 1838, known for refined sparkling wines from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Part of the Roederer Collection since 1993, Deutz produces Champagne from leading terroirs across Aÿ, the Vallée de la Marne, the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs. Its range includes Deutz Brut Classic, Deutz Rosé, Amour de Deutz, William Deutz and single-vineyard Hommage à William Deutz cuvées.

Hommage a William Deutz La Cote Glaciere 2018 is a single-plot Champagne fromLa Cote Glaciere in Ay Grand Cru. Made from 100% Pinot Noir, the wine reflects a sunny and generous expression of this prestigious Ay terroir. The plot is full south exposure enabled optimal ripening, producing concentrated fruit with high sugar levels balanced by lively acidity. The result is a powerful, expressive and controlled interpretation of Pinot Noir from A?.
Vinification
The grapes were harvested between 25 and 27 August 2018. Malolactic fermentation is completed, supporting texture and balance. The wine was bottled on 25 June 2019 and aged for six years in cellar, allowing its Pinot Noir structure, richness and complexity to integrate. A dosage of 7g/l balances the wine’s opulent fruit and firm framework while preserving freshness.
2018
The 2018 vintage was marked by exceptional climatic conditions. Radiant summer sunshine allowed the grapes to ripen fully while maintaining impeccable sanitary conditions. On La C?te Glaci?re, the full south exposure delivered Pinot Noir with strong concentration. Yields were moderate, but the fruit achieved high sugar levels balanced by lively acidity. The vintage stands out for power, freshness and elegance, producing a complex and expressive single-plot Champagne.
Tasting Note
Pale gold in colour, bright and crystalline. The nose is intense and generous, showing dark fruits such as blackberry and blackcurrant, with dark chocolate notes reflecting the ripeness of Pinot Noir. The palate is concentrated and rich, with a dense body, controlled power and solid structure. Freshness prevents heaviness, while the texture unfolds gradually through the tasting. The finish is long, expressive and opulent.
