Decanter recommends Castiglion del Bosco

The Castiglion del Bosco estate is comprised of a village and its surrounding farmlands that have been transformed into an agri-tourism resort complete with suites and villas. The estate is also home to Italy’s only totally private golf club as well as vineyards producing fantastic Brunello di Montalcino wines. There is also a heli-pad, fitness centre, tennis courts, bocce court, hiking trails, and a Kids Club and spa.

During the last week of September, Castiglion del Bosco’s  Sangiovese grapes will be harvested. On 26th September the estate’s enologist Cecelia Leoneschi will host a full-day program to explain harvest techniques and the secrets of winemaking.Guests will participate, take part in harvesting and wine making before finishing the day with a picnic.

Between 10th September and mid November, guests can also join truffle hunts and between mid October and mid Novmeber, the olive harvest.
