Deutz Brut Millesime 2019 is made entirely from Grand and Premier Cru fruit. The blend is 68% Pinot Noir from Ay, Ambonnay, Bouzy, Verzenay and Mareuil, and 32% Chardonnay from Avize, Villeneuve-Renneville and Vertus. Pinot Noir gives structure, depth and ripeness, while Chardonnay brings freshness and precision. This cru selection gives a generous yet balanced vintage Champagne with strong gastronomic potential.
Vinification
Harvest took place at the end of August 2019. The wine completed malolactic fermentation and was bottled in June 2020. Cellar ageing lasts for a minimum of five years, allowing the fruit, structure and autolytic complexity to integrate. A dosage of 6.5g/l supports balance, freshness and gastronomic versatility while preserving the refined, generous character of the 2019 vintage.
2019
The 2019 vintage was warm and sunny. Harvest began at the end of August under excellent sanitary conditions. The grapes reached exceptional ripeness, with high concentration and strong natural balance. This unusual climatic context produced wines that are rich and radiant, yet still fresh and precise. Deutz Brut Mill?sim? 2019 reflects the generosity of the year while retaining the tension and balance required for long ageing.
Tasting Note
Luminous golden in colour, with a slight orange reflection. The nose immediately shows the warm, sun-filled character of 2019, with mirabelle plum, apricot and peach, followed by smoky and spicy notes of Espelette pepper and paprika. The palate opens with marked freshness, then builds into concentrated fruit and structured texture. Layered, generous and precise, it finishes clean, mouthwatering and persistent.
Food Pairing
Pair with caramelised red poultry, smoked paprika, roast chicken, duck, lemon balm, veal, mushroom dishes, Comt? or refined poultry-based gastronomy.
