Deutz Brut Rose Millesime 2019 is made entirely from Premier and Grand Cru fruit. The blend is 80% Pinot Noir, including 6% red wine from Ay and Mareuil-sur-Ay, and 20% Chardonnay. Pinot Noir comes from Ay, Ambonnay, Bouzy, Chigny-les-Roses, Mailly, Cumières, Verzy and Verzenay, while Chardonnay comes from Avize and Ambonnay. This composition gives a structured, intense and fruit-driven vintage rose Champagne.
Vinification
Harvest took place at the end of August 2019. The blend includes 6% red wine from Ay and Mareuil-sur-Ay, intensifying colour, texture and red-fruit character. Malolactic fermentation is completed, and the wine was bottled on 17 June 2020. It receives a minimum of five years? cellar ageing, giving depth and integration. A dosage of 6.5g/l supports balance and aromatic generosity.
2019
The 2019 vintage was warm, radiant and early, with perfectly healthy harvest conditions and grapes reaching full, concentrated ripeness. This sun-filled year produced a structured, generous and intense Brut Rose Millesime, with balanced complexity and strong fruit expression. The wine captures the richness of the vintage while retaining the freshness and precision expected from Deutz?s Pinot Noir-led rose style.
Tasting Note
The nose is generous and rich, with ripe red fruits including strawberry, cherry and blackcurrant, alongside redcurrant jelly, vineyard peach and a delicate rose note. The palate opens broad, silky and indulgent, with integrated freshness supporting a generous yet balanced body. Red fruits, floral nuance and dark chocolate carry through the complex finish. Persistent and gastronomic, it combines concentration with finesse.
Food Pairing
Pair with duck breast and lingonberries, pink veal, roast lamb with rosemary and figs, grilled red mullet, spicy beef salad or red fruit pavlova.
