Ramos Pinto
Founded in 1880 by Adriano Ramos Pinto, this Port House has always had a pioneering spirit – from the distinctive and stylish ‘art nouveau’ advertising from the 1900s to the continuing wide ranging vineyard research with results that have benefited the whole port trade. Champagne Louis Roederer, now the majority shareholder, perpetuates this philosophy and ensures continuity in a company renowned for wine-making excellence.
Read MoreVinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and transported to the winemaking centre in small boxes. After selection, the grapes are vinified separately, according to the variety and the vineyard; the must is obtained by direct pressing after cold maceration. The clean must was fermented in stainless steel vats at low temperature (90%) and in French oak casks (10%). This wine was bottled in February 2014.
2013
2013 was an excellent year for white wines on the Upper Douro. Its climatic characteristics, namely a wet winter and dry summer, as well as the perfect conditions that occurred during harvest (between August 13th and September 18th), provided very well balanced grapes with great aromatic expression.
Tasting Note
Very pale colour with a greeny gold tint. The aroma is dominated by lemony herbal and floral notes. On the palate it is dry with hints of ripe golden fruit and a lemony fresh finish.
Food Pairing
The Duas Quintas white 2013 is excellent when served as an aperitif. We recommend it as an accompaniment to salads, marinated fish, all seafood and chicken dishes.
Serving Suggestion
Serve between 12º and 14º C. Store the bottle on its side in a cool, dry and dark place.
