Ramos Pinto
Ramos Pinto was founded in 1880 by brothers Adriano and Antonio, bringing a new era of quality wine production to the Douro. Ramos Pinto’s long and distinguished history was further strengthened when the house became part of the Louis Roederer Family in 1990 who share the family history, focus on quality and investment in the future. Today, Adriano and Antonio’s descendants Jorge and Ana Rosas continue their pioneering spirit and search for the highest quality in the Douro as CEO and Master Blender respectively.

Ramos Pinto manages 187 hectares of vineyards in the Alto Corgo and Douro Superior, including Quinta de Ervamoira. The estate?s control over viticulture and harvest timing is central to the house style. The Douro?s mountainous landscape, steep slopes, warm conditions and schist-influenced soils produce Port wines with concentration, freshness and structure. Quinta de Ervamoira contributes fruit depth and body to this 10 Year Old Tawny Port.
Vinification
Quinta de Ervamoira 10 Year Old Tawny is made from high-quality wines from the estate, blended from different harvest years. Younger wines contribute robustness, freshness and fruit, while older components bring complexity, maturity and depth. The final character reflects the skill of the tasting room, where blending determines balance, texture and aromatic expression. Wood ageing gives the wine its tawny colour, mellow fruit and spice-led complexity.
Tasting Note
The wine is reddish tawny to the rim. The nose is rich and mature, with ripe fruit, raisin, spice and vanilla. The palate is smooth and sweet in texture, showing mellow ripe fruit, dried grape, sweet red fruit, dark chocolate and spiced wood. Medium to full-bodied, it combines mature richness with a bright, fresh line. The finish is rounded, polished and persistent.
Food Pairing
Pair with dried fruit desserts, walnut tart, almond cake, orange marmalade pudding, egg custard tart, cr?me brulee, aged Gouda or sheep?s milk cheese.
