Masseria Surani
Masseria Surani is a Puglia wine project created by the Tommasi family in 2014, centred on the native grape varieties and terroirs of Salento. Based around Manduria, Lizzano and Guagnano, the estate produces Primitivo, Negroamaro, Fiano and Negroamaro rosé with a contemporary, balanced approach. Their range offers a clear and versatile route into modern Puglian wine.
Read MoreVinification
The grapes undergo eight to ten hours of maceration on the skins to achieve the wine?s delicate colour and aromatic profile. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel at controlled temperatures, never exceeding 13?C, for 10 to 12 days. The wine receives at least four months of bottle ageing before release. This careful, cool vinification preserves freshness, floral character and the refined fruit expression of Negroamaro rosato.
Tasting Note
Elegant pale ros? in style, with a refined aromatic profile. The nose shows floral notes of rose and geranium, alongside pink grapefruit and pomegranate. The palate is lively and fresh, with good aromatic persistence, subtle red-fruit character and delicate salinity. Light to medium-bodied, it remains precise, refreshing and food-friendly. The finish is clean, savoury and gently fruity.
Food Pairing
Pair with orecchiette with broccoli rabe, meatballs in tomato sauce, fish dishes, fresh pasta, seafood salads, pizza, grilled vegetables, antipasti or lightly spiced Mediterranean dishes.
