Ayla’s obsession with wine began over 20 years ago with a sip of Barolo that had her hooked. She went on to study Viticulture & Oenology at Lincoln University and later UC Davis, California. Early experience in the industry included vintages in Australia, California, and New Zealand, as well as roles as both a sommelier and in independent retail.

She first launched a career into sales with a Spanish wine importer, and then for a premium producer from Central Otago, as Sales Manager in both New Zealand and Australian markets. Her thirst for travel and international wine experience led to the move to London in 2019 where she worked at Enotria&Coe, most recently as a Key Account Manager for the London on-trade.

In 2025, Ayla joined MMD and is thrilled to be working closely within the team to develop our high-quality producers in the London trade. Passionate about cooking and wine pairing, she otherwise enjoys spending time with her young family at home in Surrey, along with hiking, swimming and gardening.

Harry’s passion for wine began at the age of 18, when he was introduced to a winemaker and became fascinated by the craft and culture behind the industry. Having spent much of his childhood in the South of France, wine was always a part of the landscape around him, inspiring him to learn more about the people, places, and stories behind each bottle.

With that, Harry went on to study International Wine Business at Plumpton College in Sussex. Alongside developing his industry knowledge, he gained hands-on experience working at the Plumpton Vineyards and Winery, building an understanding of both the commercial and production sides of the wine world. He completed the 2024 vintage at Nyetimber, working in the pressing centre, which furthered his practical experience in wine production. Following the season, he joined their London Sales Team. Harry joined MMD in June 2026, where he focus on business development in London.

Outside of work, he enjoys staying active through fitness, experimenting with new recipes, and travelling to new wine regions.

Mario started his career in hospitality in Italy before moving to the UK in 2008, when he continued in the same industry working for established brands such as Conrad and Waldorf Astoria, part of the luxury Hilton Worldwide portfolio and also with well-known chefs Michel Roux Jr. and the 2009 MasterChef winner Steve Groves at Roux at Parliament Square.

Mario’s passion for wines, and a great opportunity to look after London on trade for Sogrape UK (Sandeman ambassador), enabled him to move to the wine trade in 2016. He also worked with Liberty Wines during his time at Sogrape due to the distribution agreement between both companies.

In October 2017 he decided to take on a fantastic project at MMD as a London Sales Manager focussing on prestigious on-trade customers.

Mario really enjoys cooking and food experiences, both of which go hand in hand with exceptional wines! Outside work, Mario enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing sports and watching them.

Charlotte joined the trade in 1993 working for a wine retailer. From there she developed a career in sales with multinationals across the drinks trade. An early-life crisis led to a spell of study and travel through the world’s vineyards in pursuit of wines with a story to tell, ultimately leading to a chance meeting in 2003 and a  job at Morris & Verdin, latterly FMV. In 2018 Charlotte was delighted to have the opportunity to join team MMD and is looking forward to the new challenges ahead. Based in the Peak district, Charlotte likes to spend her time outside work, outside.

Greg developed his interest in wine as Bar Manager at the Old Course Hotel, while studying at St Andrew’s University. Having spent much of his time in France, this interest developed into a passion. While working in the world of advertising, marketing and publishing in London, Greg started to collect wine and champagne – which prompted him into starting a cellar of sorts. Soon the allure of wine would be a crucial deciding factor in the choice of holiday destinations with vineyard visits and wine tasting an absolute prerequisite!

After deciding that a change of career was needed to follow his passion, Greg worked at Majestic Wine for 4 years, gaining Distinction in WSET 3 which also earned him a place on the Diploma Course in 2022. After joining MMD that year, Greg completed and passed his Diploma at the end of 2023. When his nose is not in a glass of wine, Greg is an active gym member, a huge cricket, music and film fan, lover of the outdoors, particularly hiking and camping.

Fun facts – Greg trained as a chef for 3 months during his 3rd year summer break while at university and is still a bit of an obsessive cook; he has led orchestras as an accomplished violin player, captained hockey and cricket teams and won the Tough Mudder Midlands in 2014.

Ivo began his career in wine in 1999, working in restaurants in his native Bulgaria. Early recognition came when he won the Best Sommelier of Bulgaria competition twice, achievements that helped shape his path in the industry and eventually led him to the UK.

In 2005, Ivo moved to London and joined the Great Eastern Hotel, where he continued developing his career within the city’s vibrant restaurant scene. He later joined L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Covent Garden, spending eight years as Head Sommelier. There, he worked with one of the world’s most celebrated culinary brands while deepening his knowledge of international wines and food pairing.

During his sommelier career, Ivo also worked harvests in several wineries, gaining hands-on cellar experience with producers including Laure and Jean-Luc Colombo in the Rhône Valley and Olivier Humbrecht MW at Domaine Zind-Humbrecht in Alsace.

After many years in restaurants, Ivo moved into the commercial side of the wine trade, joining González Byass UK, where he spent eight years working with a portfolio of premium wines and building strong relationships across the UK on-trade.

In November last year, following a family move to Cornwall, Ivo joined MMD, where he now works closely with restaurants, merchants, and partners across the industry.

Outside of work, he enjoys travelling, cooking with friends, and making the most of life by the sea in Cornwall.

Bryn began his beverage career in Hospitality, before taking a break after University to pursue a career with a band whereupon they toured the world, selling 100,000 albums and scoring 3 UK top 40 hits.

After the band wound down Bryn continued his career in drinks cutting his teeth in gastropubs in North London and amassing knowledge from the wine, spirits and beer worlds.

Initially starting his sales experience in the world of craft beer, working with Cave Direct, Fourpure and Cassels Brewery. Bryn operated his own business for a period before jumping back into sales where his love for wine lead him join Mentzendorff. Here he was part of the National Accounts Team and undertook his WSET qualifications and gained invaluable experience. Byrn joined the MMD team in December 2025.

Away from work, Bryn enjoys cooking, reading, going to the theatre, and playing a range of sports. He’s just as at ease sharing his passion and knowledge of wine as he is discussing his latest book or a recent play he’s been to.

Lucy’s love of wine began whilst working in Champagne as part of her French and Spanish degree. After graduating, she began her career in the wine trade at Majestic Wine. She then spent three years with Fields, Morris & Verdin working across Sales Support and Marketing before moving to the Berry Bros. & Rudd Buying team. Lucy joined MMD in April 2021 as Brand Manager and is responsible for Pichon Comtesse, Château de Pez, Ramos Pinto, Diamond Creek, Merry Edwards, Roederer Estate and Domaine Anderson. She holds her Diploma in Wine and Spirits and was awarded the Derouet Jameson scholarship which contributes funding towards the Master of Wine programme. Outside of work, if Lucy is not studying or tasting wine, she can be found on long walks along the Chiswick riverside, playing tennis or exploring vineyards wherever she can.

It was during the summer post graduation, that it dawned on Jamie that wine could be an interesting path down which to tread. 9 years at Majestic in various marketing roles and a WSET diploma followed, with subsequent stints at Gallo Family, where he lead Fine Wine marketing across EMEA; John E. Fells, looking after the Australia and New Zealand Portfolio; and a few years running his own business, specialising in food and wine pairing events and consultancy, which he set up in 2016 after a run to the semi-finals of Masterchef.

In his spare time Jamie plays golf and tennis, follows football and rugby, is passionate about wine, cooking, reading and music and enjoys travelling home to Northern Ireland with his young family and 2 dogs – Mo and Pinot.

Jitka’s journey in wine as a sommelier began ten years ago, with the high point of her sommelier career at 67 Pall Mall, navigating an extensive wine list and unlocking the stories behind every bottle. Her growing passion for Champagne led Jitka to win the 2019 Ruinart Sommelier Challenge, a career highlight she still looks back on with pride. Jitka then joined Wine-Searcher, deepening her knowledge of the global wine market, before finding a new home at MMD.

Today, Jitka is Brand Manager for Louis Roederer Champagne, championing the House’s rich heritage and effortless elegance, building strong partnerships and creating memorable events filled with sparkling moments.

Alongside her role, Jitka is currently studying towards her Master of Wine, further deepening her passion and expertise. In her free time, she enjoys sporty activities and is a true lover of the outdoors, notably mountains, where she loves snowboarding as well as lacing up her hiking boots to discover new destinations, always enthusiastic to explore local gastronomy and hidden wine gems.

Luke began his foray into wine in 2016, when he began working for Oddbins’ wine shops across London. A part-time job evolved into a full-time interest and while studying for his master’s degree; he joined Sussex University’s Wine Society, began writing wine reviews for the student newspaper and started working at The Whisky Shop in Brighton.

After moving back to London, Luke then spent 5 years working in the Wines and Spirits department at Harrods, starting in Sales, then moving to the Supply Chain and finally spending two years working in the Buying team. During this time Luke undertook his WSET Diploma and began judging for the Drinks Business Global Spirits Masters.

Luke joined Maisons Marques et Domaines in October 2024, eager to specialise in Brand Management and work across MMD’s iconic portfolio. When taking a break from work, Luke enjoys running, cooking and is passionate about music, travel and Whisky.

Sharon oversees MMD’s brand marketing initiatives, from the website, social media, events and communications. Her career began in events and marketing across the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector. Yet, she always have a passion for food and wine since studying hospitality. After a few rewarding diversions, she found her way back to wine and continues to build her experience and knowledge in the industry.

Outside of work, Sharon enjoys cooking, hosting dinner parties and exploring food experiences, all of which go hand in hand with finding the right wine for the right occasion. She also enjoys running, going to the gym, practising Pilates and always finding a new skill to learn.

After earning degrees in Neuroscience and Clinical Psychology, Valeria began her career as a researcher, exploring the complexities of the human mind. But her true calling arrived, unexpectedly, in the form of a glass of wine. What started as a hobby grew into a career, leading her to pursue a master’s degree in Wine Marketing in Florence and earn the WSET Diploma.

She began her journey in Tuscany with Antinori, followed by a stint at Chandon in Australia, before moving to London to work with Berry Bros. & Rudd, Berkmann, and Liberty Wines. She joined MMD in 2021, where she is responsible for Ornellaia, Masseto, Tenuta Luce, Attems, Tommasi Family Estates, Pio Cesare, and Meerlust.

A fan of Champagne and Chianti Classico, Valeria enjoys discovering new wines with friends, travelling, exploring London’s craft beer scene, attending the theatre, indulging in Japanese culture, or finding calm through yoga.

Following departure from her native New Zealand in the early 1990s, Marti began working in the UK wine trade and discovered that her palate was rather suited to champagne! A sales support role at Maisons Marques et Domaines led into Brand Management where Marti gained her WSET Advanced qualification and looked after a number of the family agencies. After 9 years she ventured away for a sabbatical with McKinley Vintners to assist with the IT, marketing and distribution of Champagne Gosset and Cognac Frapin amongst others. Marti returned to MMD in 2001 to head the Customer Services Department and is now responsible for the operations and commercial aspects of the company to ensure a seamless service for our Principals and Customers alike.

Hannah has built her career around people, drawing on a strong foundation in hospitality and a range of customer-centric roles across multiple industries. For the past three years, Hannah has been part of the customer service team at Maisons Marques et Domaines. In this role, she contributes to the smooth running of daily operations, supporting customers with efficiency and attention to detail. Her work spans order management, client communication, and coordination with internal teams to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of services.

Outside the office, Hannah is passionate about music and art, often seeking out new creative inspiration. She also enjoys spending time at home with her partner and their cat, Luna.

Nick started his working life between the beaches and ski slopes of France before returning to the UK to take up a career as Event Manager for a catering company.  During this time, Nick gained his WSET Advanced qualification before jumping ship to join the wine trade and the Maisons Marques et Domaines team in 2005.  Initially working in the Customer Services Department, Nick then migrated to the Marketing Department to assist with all aspects of event planning, notably organising the Annual Tastings and a pivital role co-ordinating the LRIWWA.  In 2011 Nick returned to the oversee the Customer Services Department as Sales & Purchasing Manager where he looks after the purchasing requirements from our non-Roederer agencies.  Nick is a keen photographer and enjoys a good pint of ale.

Sam joined the business in September 2025 as Inventory & Supply Planner, bringing over a decade of operational experience across hospitality and the wine trade. Sam’s interest in wine began during ten years with Living Ventures Restaurants before moving into customer service and supply planning at Liberty Wines, where Sam spent six years developing strong commercial and operational expertise.

At MMD, Sam oversees inventory management, supply planning, and day-to-day operational functions, supporting the smooth and efficient flow of stock across the business.

Outside of work, Sam enjoys music, film, football, and is an avid runner.

After moving from Italy in 2009, Esmeralda began working in the UK hospitality industry where she found an interest in wines. Having worked in a variety of roles, she enjoyed bookkeeping the most which then initiated her interest in accounts and finance. Esmeralda joined MMD in January 2022 as accounts assistant after started her AAT qualifications, which allowed her to develop skills in the field. Currently a part qualified accountant, Esmeralda is pursuing her studies further in order to complete her qualifications. Away from work, she is an avid cook and loves spending time with her family and friends.

Niven has always worked in IT , he brings over 25 years of technical experience to the role. Before joining MMD, he spent a significant part of his career in software implementation & project management. This experience gave him an understanding of how to deliver complex technical projects successfully and guide organisations through periods of change and transformation.

Since joining MMD in 2013, Niven has been instrumental in shaping MMD’s IT function by overseeing and strengthening infrastructure to  deliver reliable technology solutions across the business. He ensures the team has the tools and systems to operate efficiently and stay ahead in a constantly evolving digital landscape.

Beyond his day-to-day role, Niven is also MMD’s Wellness Champion, actively promoting a healthy and balanced workplace culture. Outside of work, he enjoys staying active and training at the gym 7 days a week.

Vice grew up in Croatia with a natural appreciation for good food and wine. After several years working in a pharmaceutical laboratory, he moved to London in search of a more dynamic career. He started his career in the UK hospitality industry while running a pub. Later, he joined Enotria&Coe as part of the Customer Services team before progressing to a Credit Controller role, where he was responsible for national accounts. These experiences allowed Vice to develop a strong understanding of both customer relationships and the financial side of the wine trade.

In November 2023, Vice joined MMD as a Credit Controller within the Finance team. Since then, he has helped improve financial processes and reporting and has progressed into his current role as Finance Analyst.

Away from work, Vice enjoys long weekend bike rides, cooking, concerts and travelling.
