De Buris

"Homo tempus metirit, tempus hominem". Man measures time, time measures man.

As a family and a company Tommasi works for the present and future of Italian wine. They have established themselves as the synonym of Amarone wine and Valpolicella’s history.

An ambition dating back twenty years nourished by the values that have always characterized their history: sustainability, the quality of the land and soil under ownership, experimentation, they have come to realise an outstanding Amarone project.

De Buris, a radiant child of “our” Time.

De Buris, an Amarone Riserva, is made exclusively from the 1.9-hectare plot, the highest part of The Groletta vineyard, in the heart of Sant’Ambrogio di Valpolicella. The single plot stands at 300m and overseas lake Garda enjoying its afternoon cooling breeze which in combination to its prime location with long sunhours, makes it the ideal location for making an Amarone Riserva.

De Buris is a project that takes the Tommasi Family back to its roots, the origins of Valpolicella Classica. The project does not only include the wine but also a historic villa, the oldest in the Valpolicella area. The main building is currently being restored while the original cellar of the property has already been the home of De Buris 2008 and 2009.

De Buris Amarone Riserva 2009

Valpolicella Classico, Veneto

Corvina (65%)
Corvinone (24%)
Rondinella (5%)
Oseleta (6%)

Tasting note

De Buris 2009 displays a bright, deep ruby red color; on the nose it is taut and extremely fine, with the typical aromas of both sour and sweet black cherries that evolve into notes of spices and cocoa beans. On the palate it unleashes all of its personality: it offers high-toned, vibrant yet delicately velvety fruit. In spite of its concentration, it never seems heavy. Indeed, it is poised, harmonious, apparently suspended.
