James Suckling’s Top 100 Italian Wines in 2014 features two wines from Pio Cesare; Barolo ‘Ornato’ and Barbaresco ‘Il Bricco’ from the outstanding 2010 vintage, both of which scored 96 points,
Suckling’s report focused heavily on 2010 vintage in Piedmont. He comments, “The 2010 vintage is a unique year for Barolo that highlights how an exceptional, long growing season in the Langhe can produce balanced but structured Nebbiolo that are beautiful to drink now but will improve for years ahead”.
