Producer Information

Domaines Ott was founded in 1912 by Marcel Ott, an agricultural engineer from Alsace who dreamed of establishing a great wine estate near the Mediterranean. Today, the wineries are owned and managed by Champagne Louis Roederer and produce some of the world’s most prestigious wines, but particularly rosé wines, made at distinctively different estates in Bandol and Côtes de Provence appellations.


This estate is located in the west of the Var region in the heart of the famous winegrowing area of Bandol. Mourvèdre is the estate’s major grape variety.  The vines have an average age of 25 years old across the 70 hectares that are planted. They grow in the estate’s distinctive terroir which is composed of limestone, sandstone and marl, sustained by gravel. This unique soil, together with a sun-drenched and particularly dry microclimate, produces elaborate and very powerful wines that are suitable for laying down.


The grapes are all hand picked and go through a stringent selective grape sorting. All grapes are de-stalked. Fermentation is done in thermo-regulated vats followed by ageing in oak casks for 18 to 20 months.

Tasting Note

Inviting bright garnet colour with deep purple tints. The nose is delightful and elegant, combining notes of red fruits and spices. The blend of Mourvèdre and Grenache gives notes of blackcurrant, thyme, and peppery spices. The mouth is supple and harmonious, with aromas of red fruits with a slightly menthol undertone.

Food Pairing

Excellent with beef ribs, spicy dishes, strong cheese.

Best served at 15°-16°C.
