This Burgundian domaine has been a family estate for nearly 200 years. Erwan Faiveley, 7th generation, took the reins in 2006 from his father when he was only 25. They have earned their reputation as one of Burgundy’s finest and most trusted, with an unparalleled selection from the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise totalling over 120 hectares.
Macon Prisse wines are those produced under the Macon appellation within the commune of Prisse. Prisse also makes wine under the Saint-Veran title. Macon is a generic appellation for red, white and rose wines from the Maconnais region of southern Burgundy. However, a number of communes within its catchment area have been recognized as sources of higher quality wine and may append their names to that of the appellation on their labels.
This wine comes from carefully selected plots which are nicely spread out over this appellation. Faiveley regularly carry out quality checks on each plot they have reserved this assures quality of the grapes and the professionalism of the producers they are in partnership with. The wine is then aged on its fine lees for 8-10 months in the cellars in Nuits-Saint-Georges, enabling it to acquire a certain suppleness and more complex aromas.
The weather conditions in 2015 were outstanding and the vintage is characterised by its rich and very distinctive style. Excellent ageing potential.
A brilliant pale yellow colour with a fresh nose of floral and ripe, citrus, fruity aromas. After a bold attack on the palate, this wine has beautiful liveliness and interesting long lasting aromas and flavours.
